About Stephanie
Two decades of advocacy and impact
For over twenty years, Stephanie von Bismarck has been a leading voice in child protection, digital literacy, and education reform — working across Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Sweden, and the United States.
As an author, speaker, and podcast host, she bridges the gap between policy, technology, and the everyday challenges families face in the digital age.
Stephanie von Bismarck was born in Munich, Germany, to a German father and a Swedish mother, and raised across multiple countries. She is a great-great-granddaughter of Chancellor Otto von Bismarck and has dedicated her work to helping children and young people navigate an increasingly complex and digital world.
She studied philosophy and modern history at the University of Tübingen, alongside business administration and textile engineering in Nagold — an interdisciplinary foundation that continues to shape her perspective across society, technology, and human behaviour.
Stephanie first gained international recognition for her work in child protection. As President of Innocence in Danger, a global NGO combating child sexual abuse, she led major awareness campaigns and policy initiatives reaching millions across Europe. Her bestselling book Schaut nicht weg! (Don't Look Away!) became a call to action for parents and educators confronting the realities of online risk.
Today, her work focuses on digital education, media literacy, and the broader question of how we prepare the next generation for the future. She invests in education ventures, serves on various boards, and advises organisations and companies on navigating technological and societal change.
She is the host of the podcast How Do We Manage?, where she speaks with leading thinkers, scientists, and cultural voices about how we live, lead, and make sense of an increasingly complex world.
A frequent contributor to major international and European media outlets, Stephanie has become a widely recognised voice on child safety and digital education. In 2026, she received the prestigious Courage Prize for her decades of advocacy.
